Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram is a historical city and UNESCO World heritage site in Chengalpattu District in the South India states of Tamilnadu. It is one of the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, about 60 kilometers away outside city of Chennai. The city was Group of Monuments, rock cut temple by the 7th and 8th Centuries within the Pallava Kingdom. The Monuments were built during the pallava dynasty. Know as seven pagodas in many colonial era publications, there are called as Mahabalipuram historical Sightseeing places in Contemporary literature. Mahabalipuram are ten major rathas , ten Mandapams and two rock base relief and three Structural temples, the monuments working os Square and Circle.
The reliefs Sculptures and architecture incorporate Shaivam, Vaishnavism and shaktism, with each monuments dedicated to a deity or a character in Hindu Mytholog. Mamallapuram, south of Chennai, was the major seaport of the ancient Pallava kingdom based at Kanchipuram.
