In 1870, Emperor Franz Joseph I ceremonially laid the keystone of the Musikverein.

Since then, the Golden Hall of the Musikverein has been known to music lovers all over the world, not only because the annual New Year's Concert with the Vienna Philharmonic, which takes place here, is broadcast worldwide, it is also the permanent seat of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Vienna Mozart Orchestra.

The “Golden Sound” in the Golden Hall is particularly fascinating for the concert-goers – an architectural and acoustic masterpiece!
But that is not all - the Musikverein has a second Hall - The Brahms Hall. Here the Danish-Austrian architect Theophil von Hansen (1813 – 1891) created the ideal setting for perfect musical enjoyment. Since the restoration according to the original plans, the Brahms Hall in the Musikverein has radiated its original beauty, admired by visitors from all over the world, in full splendor. Due to its excellent, world-famous acoustics, the Brahms Hall is another venue for the Vienna Mozart concerts.

The Concerts:
Schedule: The concert begins at 8:15 p.m.

The repertoire of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra includes more than 100 works by the great master of Viennese classical music, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The concerts are designed in the style of 18th-century musical academies, in which it was customary to perform individual movements from his numerous symphonies and solo concertos, as well as overtures, arias, and duets from his most famous operas. The most popular pieces by Mozart are presented in every concert!

The Dinner:
 Schedule: The dinner begins at 6 pm or 10:15 pm.
