The Vienna Residence Orchestra is a Viennese chamber orchestra with a long tradition of performing the ‘Wiener Klassik’ in its purest form. The Orchestra has been performing beautiful concerts at some of the city’s finest concert halls for many decades. In 1991 the orchestra was appointed as the official representative of the City of Vienna for the celebration of the bicentenary of Mozart’s death and also performs regularly at the ‘Vienna International Festival’. The Orchestra now brings to life the popular Mozart and Strauss concerts day after day at the majestic Vienna Palais. The programme includes some of the most famous and beautiful classics by these great composers. Many of the performances were accompanied by world-famous opera singers and ballet dancers; in fact, already back in 1992 Rudolf Nureyev was invited to be a guest conductor and was such a great success that subsequently he was followed by many more renowned performers from around the world of music and dance.
