After you meet your guide at the hotel, you will begin an exiting journey towards Mezcala. Upon arrival, board a local fisherman's boat that will take you to the neighbouring Isla de Mezcala, an island rich with history that stands out in the middle of the largest lake in Mexico, Lake Chapala.
Currently uninhabited, Mezcala Island has been the scene of the largest battle in the country, the refuge of a group of insurgents in Mexico's War of Independence and later, served as a prison. As you stroll along this interesting island you can admire its natural beauty, 19th century military architecture as well as unforgettable views of the lake.
After the walk, take the boat back to Mezcala town and drive to the town of Chapala where you can make the most of free time for lunch on the promenade, as well as enjoy the fantastic climate of Chapala before returning back to the hotel.
