History lovers will want to see nearby Asklepieion (ticket not included), one of Greece’s most important classical sites. Its marble temples mark where the world’s first hospital once stood. You can also visit the 15th-century Knights fortress and breathe in panoramic sea views from its battlements.

After seeing the town, you can choose to relax in the sun on one of the many golden beaches. Recline upon the soft powdery sand or go for a leisurely swim in the glistening water.
