On this full-day, 10-hour tour, depart from Cefalù and make way to the Aeolian Islands: a volcanic archipelago off the northern coast of Sicily that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Lipari, the main island of the Aeolian Archipelago, often surprises the traveller, who does not expect to find, besides beaches and volcanic peaks, also archaeological treasures. So Lipari is a very popular destination.

The oldest archaeological findings are proof. In fact, Lipari has been inhabited since the Neolithic age by men, because the first settlers were attracted by the obsidian, the shiny black volcanic stone, which was used for weapons and cutting tools, before the use of metals. Vulcano has been the last Aeolian island to be populated, due to its violent volcanic activity. This always characterized the island during the centuries with its alternate phases during the centuries.

Ancient people went there anyway to extract alum and sulphur and to use its thermal waters. Ochre and green are the typical colours of the island. In fact, we find them on the ground, and in the sea, we can see the cobalt blue of its deep-sea bottom.

Landing on Vulcano means plunging into its nature, losing yourself in a timeless atmosphere, sweeping the horizon, and admiring breathtaking sunsets. During the day you will first have a tour of Lipari's archaeological sites and then Vulcano to see its thermal attractions. The tour will conclude in the late afternoon after you return to Milazzo and board a coach back to Cefalù.
