With a history exceeding 2,000 years, Suzhou's embroidery is considered the 'pearl of oriental art' for its beautiful designs,varied stitches, superb workmanship and elegant colours. A museum attached to the institute display copies of Ming dynasty imperial robes, as well as over 200 pieces of modern embroidery.
