For hundreds of children in the Australian outback, the Alice Springs School of the Air is now their lifeline to education. Over the years, hundreds of tour groups from all over the world have visited our Visitor Centre! Whatever the case, wherever you are from, we are here to provide you with a unique and engaging Northern Territory experience. 

Alice Springs School of the Air Experience is a much loved feature on the itinerary of many tours and travel experiences in Central Australia. If you are looking  for an interesting tour in Alice Springs, we’d love for you to experience our unique and authentic attraction, located a mere 5 minutes drive north of the CBD. The School of the Air, 

Upon arrival at Alice Springs School of the Air Visitor Centre we will provide you with a local guide to welcome you. Next you will discover the evolution of our school through engaging displays, a presentation by your friendly guide and an in-house film. You will observe the interactions between our teachers and students during a live or pre-recorded lesson in one of our five broadcasting studios. Please allow a minimum of 45 minutes for the presentation, tour and shopping.

We love to meet other school students! We hope to welcome you to the world’s largest classroom right here in the middle of Australia. A visit to Alice Springs School of the Air assists both teachers and students who address the ethical understandings contained in the General Capabilities section of the Australian Curriculum. It provides an opportunity to experience a world thousands of kilometres from your own, not just literally but culturally. It provides an insight into a world dominated by isolation and allows those visiting to make connections between their own worlds and the worlds of others. It provides an opportunity to develop abilities, to communicate and empathise with others and to analyse intercultural experiences critically. It offers opportunities for them to consider their own beliefs and attitudes in a new light, and so gain insight into themselves and others.

    • If an event is no longer available for booking or if unforeseen circumstances arise, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation. In such cases, you will be notified promptly, and any payments made will be fully refunded.

    • Full refund is available up until 48hrs prior to the event. 

    • We recommend reviewing your reservation details prior to your event date to ensure the event is still available.
