Visit the scenic Atherton Tablelands, rich in biodiversity, an area that features a range of habitats including lush tropical rainforest and volcanic crater lakes.
Enjoy an Afternoon Tea at the world renowned, Lake Barrine.
During our adventure by day, we may see the Musky Rat Kangaroo, Boyds Forest Dragon, a selection of rainforest birds, butterflies, and Flying Foxes. At dusk we venture to the viewing area by the river to search for the Platypus, one of the most unique mammals on earth.
After dinner at a local country restaurant, our nighttime spotlighting adventure begins. As we walk under the night stars, and into the World Heritage Rainforest, we may be lucky enough to spot a Lumholtzs Tree Kangaroo, Northern Leaf Tailed Gecko, Ringtail Possums, gliders, frogs, owls, and more (most are endemic to the region). Every night is full of discoveries.
Later, on the trip home, we can reflect on what we have seen, and return with an increased appreciation of Australian Wildlife and the World Heritage Rainforests of North Queensland.
If you choose the private tour, you can enjoy flexible times and additional catering options such as picnic lunches or BBQs in a beautiful rainforest setting.
