What two attractions is Bangkok best known for? Answer: temples and floating markets! Get your fill of the best that Bangkok has to offer with this full day tour that combines culture, sightseeing and food tripping.
Our first stop will be the Maeklong Railway Market. Called ‘Talat Rom Hup’ which roughly means ‘umbrella pulldown market, it is famous for the vendors’ mad scramble to pack up when a train goes by. We’ll explore and hopefully see the train pass before making our way to our next stop the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.
One of the more famous floating markets in the city, it is made up of a network of narrow canals dotted with vendors paddling their boats filled with their wares. From local produce to souvenir items, we’ll take in the organized chaos on the river before stopping for lunch in a local restaurant.
After stuffing our bellies full of tasty Thai food, it’s off to see some temples. First up is Wat Phra Kaew (also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha), one of the country’s most sacred temples. We’ll take in the tranquil and spiritual environment before making our way to the Grand Palace.
Marvel at the exquisite architecture and numerous images here, once home to the Thai royal family up until the early 1900s. Having had our fill of temples, we’ll make our way back to your accommodations or meeting point to mark the end of the day.
