Let the Hermitage House and Dey Mansion take kids back to the 1700s (George Washington even stayed at both places - pretty amazing!).A fascinating look into how people used to live in the past, and a great introduction to the Revolution! If its art and culture that you want to spend the day exploring, then Newark has that too! Yes. There is a Newark Trails that will guide you thru the city. There is a lot of interesting architecture throughout the city. Definitely take the Newark Trail walk. I believe it begins at Newarks Penn Station.
