Newark is a fascinating city - and with history, nature and swamp (yes - swamps!) around every corner, you will find plenty of things to do with kids!If history is what youre looking for, then youre in the right place! Let the Hermitage House and Dey Mansion take kids back to the 1700s (George Washington even stayed at both places - pretty amazing!).A fascinating look into how people used to live in the past, and a great introduction to the Revolution! If its art and culture that you want to spend the day exploring, then Newark has that too! Hunterdon Museum of Art and Montclair Art Museum are great places for kids to be introduced to the art world!

Unless you want to visit Liberty Park with the Statue. Or attend a performance. We love Newark only because it has EWR.

Yes. There is a Newark Trails that will guide you thru the city. There is a lot of interesting architecture throughout the city. Definitely take the Newark Trail walk. I believe it begins at Newarks Penn Station.
