For an idea of the capital’s true scale, we start by crossing the 17km Vasco da Gama Bridge – Europe’s longest – over the River Tagus for some breathtaking views over Lisbon and its seven hills.

Then we drive back into the city to explore the suburb of Belem, where there are some important monuments dating back to the Age of Discovery. We stop at the 16th century Tower of Belem, a Unesco World Heritage site, which was the point of departure for the caravels sailing out in search of new worlds. Nearby is the Monument to the Discoveries, commemorating the 500th anniversary of the death of Prince Henry the Navigator. Afterward, we visit the Jeronimos Monastery (also a Unesco World Heritage Site), a masterpiece in the Manueline style, and the Carriage Museum (as these are closed on Mondays, the itinerary includes Ajuda Palace or Medeiros and Almeida Foundation instead).

Then, following the Tagus, we visit Alfama, the old town, where you can sample a glass of port in a craft shop. We return to our starting point through the heart of Lisbon, passing through the Praça do Comercio and the Praça do Rossio and then the Avenida da Liberdade, the city’s main boulevard.

    Important
Due to various restrictions on traffic circulation caused by the existing works in the city of Lisbon, we are forced to make some changes to the itinerary.

    - Departure from the Marquês de Pombal at 9 am
    - Free time at Belém Tower (approx. 30 minutes)
    - Free time at Padrão dos Descobrimentos (approx. 15 minutes)
    - Free time at Jerónimos Monastery (approx. 30 minutes)
    - Visit Palácio da Ajuda – (approx. 1 hour and 30) replaced by the Coach Museum on Wednesdays

As the usual circulation between the western and eastern areas of the city is conditioned, and because it is impossible to make this route in time within the usual timing of the itinerary, customers, after the guided tour, will be left at Restauradores or Marquês de Pombal to freely be able to make the route of Alfama using the new Digital Walking Tour.
The Digital Walking Tour allows customers to visit areas such as Alfama and Baixa-Chiado, areas that are closed to heavy vehicles for an indefinite period.
It consists of an interactive guide that is activated via GPS, and that takes customers throughout the visit with audio playback, giving them the freedom/opportunity to choose their route at their own pace.

    How does it work?
Each customer can download the “Vox City” APP for free through a QR code available on their ticket. The remaining instructions are given directly to customers through the distribution of an information flyer at time of their check-in.
